Q&A

Quick answers

What takeoff software do commercial subcontractors use?

Common choices include Bluebeam Revu for PDF markup and measurement, PlanSwift and On-Screen Takeoff on the desktop, and cloud tools such as STACK, Kreo and Togal. Flooring contractors often use MeasureSquare. Vorbi combines takeoff with bids, ordering and installer tracking.

Is takeoff software enough to bid more jobs?

Takeoff software speeds up measuring. Bidding more jobs also depends on how fast quantities become a priced bid document and how much office time the won jobs consume afterwards. That is the gap a back-office system like Vorbi closes.

Per-seat or per-company pricing: which is better?

Per-seat pricing is predictable for one or two estimators. As more people in the office and field need access, per-company pricing usually works out simpler. Compare the total for everyone who needs access.

Which takeoff tools have a free option?

STACK publishes a free plan limited to one active project per month (checked 2026-10-17). Most others offer a trial instead.
